Expected better from a Coast hotel

Was going on a vacation to Seattle and too cheap to pay for a hotel in town, Bellevue seems nice yet a little too preppy for me. Chose the Coast as I have stayed in Coast hotels before. This one was ok. The staff seemed friendly enough, the elevator a little rickety and the room clean. The pool was quite cold, even though it was heated. Teh restaurant was awful. Took 10 mins to get seated, there was only 3 people in the restaurant. 10 more mins to get coffee and dinks then the food was cold. Better off walking across the parking lot to Denny's or driving to an IHOP. The hotel overall was functional but not a great family place. Good to stay AT but not to stay IN

Functional stay, but not the best

The first night I was put in a room on backside of hotel with outdoor entrance. I purposely look for inside entrance hotels and had stayed here previously & didn't even know there were outside entrance rooms. It felt like a Red Roof Inn because of the outdoor entrance. Room was clean & functional (no closet, just a bar to hang clothes) & had small fridge to keep water and other items cold.

They had availability for me to move to inside entrance room for last 2 nights of my stay. Inside of room was same, but I felt more secure in this room & it was less noisy (as I heard highway noise in outside entrance room)

Staff was friendly & helpful. Bed was okay. I would compare this hotel to a Hampton Inn, Quality Inn type room. Convenient to the highway, but not walking distance to Bellevue restaurants and shops...you would need a car or taxi.

clean and functional

This hotel is clean, functional and comfortable but the breakfast is very expensive, unless you go to Denny's next door!
But if you want quick freeway access then this is the place.
Though there must be less expensive and still decent hotels in Bellevue. I wish I had known about this website before!
However my room did have a view of downtown Bellevue!

Not the hotel for families!

I decided to take my two children to Seattle to see the Woodland Park Zoo (wonderful zoo) and to just hang out for the weekend. We found a special deal for the WestCoast Bellevue on another web site. Knowing how nice Bellevue is I didn't think we could go wrong with this hotel.
The hotel is located on the other side of the freeway from downtown Bellevue (not near the mall or restaurants, well Denny's is near by) We arrived around 7pm. The lobby was very pretty. The hotel staff was so friendly with the flight crew who arrived before us. Once the desk clerk pulled up my reservation and saw that I was a bargin shopper he became rather snooty with me. No one helped us with our bags or showed us to our room as they did with the flight crew. When we got to the room I was quite surprised to find only one bed. (no hide-a-bed) I asked the desk clerk if we could have a room with two doubles and he said that was all they had. The clerk would have had to be deaf and blind not to notice that I had two kids with me. The room was nice and clean, but your typical Holiday Inn type room. Cheap hotel stock furniture and tacky pictures bolted to the wall. A little later I called the front desk to get a recomendation for pizza delivery. They told me Dominoes was in the phone book. Okay, gee thanks. Next we headed to the outdoor "seasonal heated" pool. It was ice cold! This was a warm summer evening. We didn't receive a breakfast or any other service with this room. I will never stay at this property again. It would be a good, clean choice for someone who is just there to sleep.
